I personally like onaga. It would be cool to see him again if they made him tougher. He has an interesting story and I'd love to find out more about his earlier years, but boss wise he was easy to handle once you knew what to do to beat him. what do you think?

I thought he had an awesome introduction. Hype up his legend/backstory but keep it in the background for a whole game, and then in the next game he appears and Deception has the coolest opening cinema in the whole series with him strolling into the castle and just walking straight through all their fire. He's just as interesting and intimidating to me as Shao Kahn is. Story-wise, anyway.

Gameplay-wise, he is kinda easy but to me, It's not really fair to judge a boss by how easy to beat they are since, well...every boss has patterns and exploitable weaknesses while also having incredibly dickish moves and AI, like...in the early games, you can usually beat Goro and Motaro just by jumpkicking over and over and over again. Is that threatening? They're so repetitive and frustrating, it's not really ever been fun to fight an MK boss IMO. It'd be better if they just fought like normal fucking characters but with more health and damage, instead of having such a limited amount of punches, kicks, and jumping ability.

I like the way Dark Kahn fights in MKvsDCU, because he moves and reacts like every other character, you can even use projectiles on him, he's just legit tougher. It's still a decently challenging boss fight, at least for me, sometimes I can beat him on the first try, more often than not it takes me two or three, that's how I like it, not impossible, just tricky. Sometimes I really legitimately hate playing the original MK2 or 3 because once I get to Kintaro or Kahn, I feel like I might as well turn off the game 'cause I ain't gonna make it any further and see the ending. I really hate that feeling, that arcade-based "we made it impossible to end the game so you'll have to keep putting in more quarters and keep trying" difficulty level that's still in the direct ports. I'm playing at home, I don't need this shit, I just wanna finish the game.

my only real criticism of Onaga is his face.

I just thought he should more like the MK logo dragon rather than well how he does.

A snout probably would have been much more interesting looking than the boring human-ish face he has, yeah. Gotta agree there.

I think he was a good boss in a bad time for MK. Although I was hyped for MKD it still disappoints me as a fighting game + the new characters were awful. And MKA didn't help either. But as a Boss character he was actually pretty good. Better than Blaze by a long shot.

I started to get tired of the 'new bosses' that replaced Shao Kahn and Goro. Onaga was probably the best out of DA, D and A. By Armageddon I was sick of the crappy bosses Midway (RIP) kept on throwing at us. Blaze was the worst boss.

I think Onaga is the second best boss, right after Shao Kahn. He could have more interesting moves though, fire breathe was quite typical. It was a good idea to have those orbs that weakened him in the MKD boss fight. The hardest boss character I've ever fought is Kintaro.

I liked him, and I usually hate large bosses (Looking at you Tekken 5 and 6). Wish Armageddon didn't come around and cut his reign short.

I kind of like Onaga. He had a nice buildup, and his presence in MK: Deception's intro was awesome. However, fighting him was a pain in the ass. I also don't like how his goals are more or less the same as Shao Kahn's. It would have been nice to have had the contrast of the two by having Onaga go for a sort of strict order that Hotaru was hoping to see under his leadership. Although I know that the MK team wanted Onaga's boss battle to be a throwback to the old school boss battles with the likes of Goro and Shao Kahn, they could have made him more of a dynamic fighter.

Overall, he has a nice concept, but I'm not really interested in seeing him again unless it's in a reboot that can properly explore his character.
