I tried installing MKT on my pc and it's not working. As soon as I get to the character select screen I get an error that says "terminate program" and it crashes. Any suggestions?

I think there is a patch you need to download or something. Or maybe it's XP.

I don't know.

Try the patch using this link: http://home.comcast.net/~heavyweights/games/mkt/index.htm

I've been using it a while and it works great, no more lockups or crashes. The only problem i have is under winXP some times some sound effects are cut short or not played. When i use Vista RC2 there are no problems at all.

The patch apparently removes direct calls to the sound hardware which is a no-no under winXP. It also cleans up a few things in the MKT folder. It's all explained on the main page.

I have had this game for a year and never got it to work. I have the game saved in C:/MK_TRIL
I downloaded the patch to that file and started the game. Nothing happened like always. i get a fat error popup that says mk runs on 32 colors, it will not run on current display settings blah blah, or a popup that says unable to execute file.........

Run the one that i linked to. It removes all the graphics errors which don't mean anything and patches the original .exe file. If you can't get it to work with this patch then there is something else wrong with your system.

Is there an error message?? if there is what does it say? or does the game just freeze?

What OS are you running?

I have windows XP. As soon as I open the game, the screen resolution jumps to huge font, and a pop up with a yellow triangle reads "MK Trilogy requires at least 32k colors. It will not run correctly with the current display settings". But when I check my display settings it is set at 32 bpp color with a screen resolution of 1280x1024.

I have never seen this error. I'd try reinstalling the game and maybe your graphics card drivers. Sounds like MKT can't detect the right settings on your vid cardconfused

Or it could be that MKT doesn't know how to handle 32bit color. Maybe turn the color down a bit?
