Best as in all of the above. there can be only one and that has to be Liu Kang in my opinion.

Lui Kang is great, but in my opinon I think Baraka is the best

Tanya is the best.She has such an amazing story and she has great moves.She's fast,has awesome juggles,and is very cheap.She was great in MK4 and I'm glad they brought her back.Boon wouldn't name a character after his sister for nothing.

For me its a tie between the two characters in my sig.

I'd have to give it to Shang Tsung. Don't get me wrong, Sub-Zero has been my favorite since MK1. But, his storylines and bios are becoming more and more lack-luster with every game. Shang Tsung, despite his fate in MK:D, is still the #1 villian in my book. The villians in MK always come out on top, otherwise there would be no more MK. Being the sorcerer that he is, the possibilities are endless. And with Ashrah losing her dagger in her ending, I see Shang Tsung coming back very soon.-

Well, the best character in the MK universe? That is tough. I can narrow it down to five if thats okay.

1.Kabal (MK3)
2.SubZero(All Versions)
3.Nightwolf (MK3)
4.Scorpion
5.Johnny Cage (MK 1-2)

In my opinion, there are a couple of characters... and – in no particular order – here they are:
1 – Sub-Zero
2 – Scorpion
3 – Reptile
4 – Smoke

1-baraka
2-sub zero
3-shung tsung
4-ashrah
5-havik

Sub-Zero, hands down, no competition, no nothing, Sub-Zero IS Mortal Kombat.

For me, it's a tie between 5 characters:

Shao Kahn
Kintaro
Raiden
Mileena
Sub-Zero

I think Kintaro and Shao Kahn are the best because they have all this brute strength and powers.
