MKT is not completely compatible with PS2 so it has a lot of freezing bugs when you get to the character endings.

And the loading time is what you would expect since it is a 2D graphic heavy PSX game. THe PS2 can;t really cut down on the loading times of PSX games.

The black screen for character endings after you defeat Shao Kahn is the only problem? Did you know another problems envolving incompatibilities with PSX games?

MKT for PSX has all kinds of problems running on PS2. The version I had would lock up at the end of every 2 player round when I played, so we had to pause the game when it said "Finish Him" and exit the match, or something like that.

I haven't really heard any problems like this with other PSX games running on PS2, but there are probably at least some other games with similar problems.

When I use it on my PS2 the only problem I have is when I beat the game it freezes with the black screen when I am done. I never had any other problems with it. I am using the Greatest Hits version so does it have any other problems with the other 2 versions?

I think back when I tried that I didnt have the greatest hits version. I had an earlier version that probably had more glitches.

I have the first version (Exclusive Playstation Edition!), and as well as the black screen w/ the intro music after u beat the game, it also freezes if you let the continue screen counter get to 0. Other than that, it's fine...

Oh, and playstation.com used to have a list of all the PSX games that had problems on the PS2...

I am so glad I am not the only one who has the freezing problem at the end of the game. So let me get this straight, if you play the PS version on an original PS, it won't freeze?

Yes, MKT runs perfectly fine on PSX, it just has trouble with PS2.
