it takes balls to break the mold and try something NEW. using the same 60+ characters in the universe of MK will only get stale eventually. what do you want a madden type game with fatality updates yearly? have faith they have something special worked up for you :)

Oh, now that im watching it again, it is using Injustice's mechanics. I loathe their way of fighting. MK9 fighting style was way more fitting.

Yeah, but to be fair, almost all of MK4's characters were shit too. And Tobias is responsible for a brown ninja called Tremor with earth powers. I wouldn't exactly call that groundbreaking character writing. The new characters are different, but they have a lot of personality and a distinct style, that's more than can be said for most of MK's newest characters. It's way too early to judge anyway. Knee jerk reactions are the sign of an immature mind.

Also, did anyone managed to realize what Sub-Zero and Scorpion were saying to each other for the entry taunts?

Funny thing is most of the people threatening to leave because of the new characters are the same people who were WANTING new characters literally an hour ago LOL But now that they see the new characters aren't a bunch of unoriginal ninjas and pallet swaps- they want to hate them.

Despite not knowing their stories. Despite not knowing what roles they play. Despite not knowing their gameplay.

"Oh, they're not like how I think they should look so they don't belong and are terrible!".

I knew the newbies would get this sort of reaction. It's sad.

LOL typical MK fans hating change. Listen we got our nostalgia game with MK9, it was incredible and superbly done but its time to move on. It seems like so many people want an MK4/Gold reboot after we got an MK Trilogy reboot. We couldn't have asked for more. Now its time to move forward, new characters must be introduced. I do agree that some of them seem out of place BUT I'd rather have those types of new characters than the plain, boring, uneventful new characters we got from Deadly Alliance, Deception and Armageddon. The only ones from those 3 games I actually liked were Kenshi, Mavado and Hotaru. I must say I am excited once again, Netherealm is looking to outdo themselves. I for one cannot wait, however what I am hoping for is not a Soul Calibur 5 situation where most characters are gone and we get all these new ones. I think there needs to be a fine balance between characters from MK9, returning characters we didn't see in MK9 and brand new original characters.

Oh and those fatalities, god damn those were absolutely brutal.

If a character isn't at least visually appealing to me I will not play them. So I can safely cross wasp lady off. I am very curious to see the big dude's bio though. Curious to see how he and the midget teamed up. Story wise these characters could be faaar worse then the 3D era characters... so you know like Baraka and Reptile in the story of MK9. Hope they aren't, but with the character chapter system that they've been using I expect it.

If they decide to go with 28 new characters are start from scratch like postArmageddon was suppose to be I'm all for it. Loving the little character stuff on the intro's. Really helps give characters a personality.
