I didnt read all comments so some might have already mentioned this but notice Sub-Zero's mask. It changes color for some reason (same in the trailer). At certain points his mask is black-ish with the glowy blue in the middle while in the latter parts of the trailer its clearly blue. This is for sure a Sub-Zero we havent encountered before

I don't know if it's the quality of the video but, I didn't like the graphics. I really don't care for them, but for example: I wanted the X-Rays to look like how they did announcement trailer.

I'm sure it's the same reason why we have Scorpion with glowing hands, swords on his back and a skull on his belt. It's probably just a fighting style change, and the ice mask highlights that.

Not too bad at all. I like the feel of the game so far.

As far as the "bug lady" could this actually be Jade or the character that Jade turned into at the end of Mortal Kombat (2011) game? She looks to be carrying a staff and using one of Jade's old combos from the last game too so I'll go out on a limb and say that this is Jade or the new character Jade turned into in her ending.

I do like the little midget looking thing and how it sounds. Reminds me of an imp. LOL.

Heart dropping Fatality thing was okay that we saw but nothing to make me go "DUDE! "

Overall I'm more interested in the direction the story will go.

First reaction is pretty good. My gripes:

1.) The new characters seem like they were made with the purpose of being comic book-like. Seems too obvious.

2.) Mechanics do seem alot like Injustice.

3.) Scorpion has a fireball and a torpedo?

- What I like is that it looks like we're being set up to get alot more substance to the events surrounding MK4, and maybe even MKDA and MKD.

- I also love how scary the game looks/feels. Strikes the perfect tone for MK. It is a bit different at the same time, and I like that in this difference, it feels like the new MK4. Taking some risk again. I'm all for that.

- I'm excited about these other Gods that seem to be involved too. I've always wanted more answers to the old war between Raiden & Shinnok. I wanted to see Raiden beat Shinnok the first time. What makes Raiden feared? Considering they keep only using him as a tool for these idiot god of earth roles? I always thought of MK4 as the game that legitimized Raiden as the God of Earth for good reason. I hope they cover this.

- Also, what were more of the details around Shinnok? What was he like when he killed Lucifer and took over hell, for instance? I wanted more details around all of that stuff back then. In fact, the lack of such details was what made me hate the original Shinnok. He wasn't his own character back then so I hope they've solved all of this completely.

Anyway...I like where it looks like we'll be going story wise, and I love the aesthetics already. Details are great. I'm not really taking to any of the new characters except for maybe that Aztec guy. The bug lady is just kind of weird to me and the big guy/lil guy just seem like another Bo Rai Cho (a joke character).

And you are surprised because...? All MK characters are pop culture derivatives.

Well, I already don't like the new characters. They don't seem very MK.

The arenas looked pretty cool though.

Who what a trailer! so many things to see. I feels like MK is getting mature for sure. Going for an Adult Only release Ed?!
Sub and Scorp look awesome and their new moves too!
I defenitly like the dark feeling that the game is probably bringin and I am quite interested in the new characters. Normally I am not that fond of new characters but these 3 did got my attention especialy that big guy with the little dwarf on his back, love the creativity.
I am really hoping to see more of this game soon but not to much because it will offcourse spoil the game.

I'm happy they're not yet another ninjas, sorcerers, and demons in human form.

MK desperately needs diversity, so the new characters ARE very MK.

I think it's pretty cool.
For some reason I have a feeling that the bug lady is Vorpax, or is she just the "canon" counterpart of her lol. She looks like the new lady in MK9 Jade ending.

The big dude with the small one Idk...if they are not guest characters, then their outfit looks kinda outworldishh to me.

And the last one maybe a god (as long as they keep the story for MK4, it is about Shinnok fights the gods) so we might see a new god in this game.


I'm waiting for more infos lol I'm frickin excited. :)

This, to me, is the worst possible complaint. Every single MK characters look like they could be right at home in a comic book.

...they feel more invasive. not so much that I was surprised.

Hopefully those were PS3 and X360 graphics. But at least it's the best looking MK yet.

Watching the trailer again and heard Scorpion scream when they Poseidon looking dude cut into him. For once it really sounded painful.

I disagree. I think he is definitely Aztec. He has what appears to be a macuahuitl strapped to his back, which is an Aztec weapon. My guess: Quetzalcoatl.

Wow I loved the trailer! The graphics, the gameplay, the characters, everything looks awesome. Personally I don't get the hate for the newbies. Of course you wouldn't know it is MK if you just saw those 2 fighting. They are new to the MK universe. I don't think anyone would figure they're watching Tekken if they saw a trailer of Alisa fighting Miguel before they came out. Change is good. We embrace change. They might turn out amazing characters, with good fighting styles and storylines. I just think it is too soon to be bitching and nitpicking about stuff.
So hyped right now!! Let's hope we get to see a few post-MK3 characters as well.

So... (almost) officially, the Tron-like character is an Aztec god.

Okay so two things.
One. Are we just saying fuck the events of the last game and carrying on like nothing happened? Why does Sub-Zero have no signs of cybernetic implants and why...why are we still doing this “I’m Scorpion the big yellow idiot and I’m mad at you not killer of my family”

Two. I really like the new characters. They fit nicely along the old cast and I really like how they are finally seeming to get a little more creative with them. These are Drahmin levels of cool. I mean come on wasp lady is such a perfect fit that I’m wondering why it took us so long to actually get her in the series. And I like the brute character. A really interesting idea there with him and his little master.

Final thoughts. I knew they would botch up the story with the next MK but seriously this is just embarrassing. Again how do you take an opportunity as cool as cyborg sub-zero and just completely throw it away?
And I want to see more of that ominous blue guy from the trailer. Who is he? God of the Order Realm?

EDIT: Okay so I'm noticing people having a problem with the new character designs because they have a "comic book" aesthetic. Um...people...this is MK everything in it looks like it's from a 90's comic. We have four armed monsters, guys with blades coming out of their arms and sharp teeth and Scorpion. Come on stop trying to pretend MK is super serious. It has always had that cheesy comic book look and it's about time they fully embrace it.

That's legitimately disappointing to say the least. When they show fatalities and cinematics the game looks great. But in regular gameplay the game looks less than stellar. It's like they're not even trying to leverage what they can out of next gen.

Well there's still quite some time before release. Hopefully they touch it up a bit.

LOL @ everyone saying the game plays like Injustice. Of fucking course it does. Injustice was their test platform for MK.

I find it odd that you can say this so definitively, when you know absolutely nothing of the story. At least let them explain what's going on before you go and say they're botching up the story to an embarrassing degree.

As far as the graphics go, while it doesn't look mind blowingly gorgeous, it does look better than all of their previous games, and we still haven't seen a full quality version of this trailer yet. We've only seen a badly compressed, stream quality version of it.

I say wait for a full quality upload of it before making judgment. At least, that's what I'm doing.

It's a fighting game, and it's the MK team we're just being cruel to ourselves if we're expecting anything other then for them to completely muck it up because really who cares about a fighting games story? Spoiler alert, just this fanbase.

Some thoughts before I head into work: I hope that if any info comes out today, someone will get it covered and share with MKO. I really wish I had today off.
